Concerts for Jewish Audiences FAQ
Do you have a minimum or maximum audience or congregation limit?
From intimate gatherings to large theater halls, from small chapels to large sanctuaries, we are at home with groups of all sizes.
What is the age range of the children in your audience?
Generally, when a family concert is advertised, our audiences range in age from 2 - 8 year olds, though there are always babies as well as older children who attend. And of course they bring their parents!
How do you group the grade levels for concerts in school settings?
For preschools, we suggest that infants and toddlers be combined, with another concert for 3 - 5 year olds. For concerts in Jewish Day Schools or Religious Schools, we recommend one group of K - 2nd graders and another group of 3rd - 6th graders. We can discuss alternative groupings that work best for your school.
Do you offer any programming for 7th grade Religious School students?
Yes, we offer a 60 - 90 minute songwriting intensive. By the conclusion of the session, the class will have written a complete song, for which we will create sheet music. We also have the capacity to record the song in our studio and create a CD single for your class.
What age groups attend your family concerts?
Our family concerts attract 2 - 8 years olds and their parents
How do you group the grade levels in Religious School worship services?
We can lead a service with either the entire school in attendance or in smaller groups according to grade levels.
Can our children's choir sing with you during your concerts and/or worship services?
Yes! In advance of our visit, we can choose songs that your choir can perform with us.
What is the length of a performance? How many concerts can you perform in one day?
Each performance is 45 minutes long. We can perform two concerts per day. Call for special block-booking rates!
How long are your worship services?
Our Terrific Tot Shabbat and Fabulous Family Shabbat services are one hour in length. When we are invited to be guest cantorial soloists for adult services, we will work within the structure of your service.
Does your concert and worship service include audience participation? What does your repertoire consist of?
Our high energy concert and worship service includes total audience participation.
Our repertoire consists of our own original songs as well as the best of contemporary children's composers, and traditional songs, chants, and fingerplays.
Are your concerts and worship services educational? Will they conform to our curriculum?
Absolutely! Our presentations draw on our extensive classroom experience and the many Tot and Family worship services we've led. The songs and prayers we use can easily dovetail with your school's curriculum. If you choose to include a teacher training, it will reflect the material we share in the concert or worship service.
How can I find out about availability and rates? How far ahead do I need to book you?
Our goal is to make every performance opportunity a reality! We have a busy performance and workshop schedule. However, we try to accommodate all of the requests we receive. Please call our office at: 508-798-5566 or email our office for information.
Can your office assist with our publicity efforts?
We will happily provide support materials, i.e. posters, press releases, and flyers to help you sponsor a successful concert or workshop.
